Rock the Bowl @ Pt. D

Rock the Bowl logoWe're filling Point Defiance’s bowl area with fun, fresh, cool experiences!

Families can participate in a variety of fun games and adventurous activities – from zip lines to obstacle courses to art projects – that represent Metro Parks’ wide variety of classes, leagues and programs.

  • At the Emerald Queen Casino’s Taste of Tacoma®, presented by BECU.
  • Point Defiance Bowl, at the entrance to Point Defiance Park
  • June 28 - 30
  • 11am - 7pm
  • Entertainment stage and some activities are free of charge
  • Zip line: $10
  • Adventure Passport: $10
  • Combo Zip Line + Passport: $15.

    Adventure Passport includes:
    Rock wall, obstacle course, tile creation art activity, hamster ball, chipping green, photo booth, ropes course and veggie stamp art activity.
Activities Include:
  • Kidzone Family Fun Stage sponsored by 94.1 KMPS.
    The stage hosts local entertainment groups, including Recess Monkey, Animal Crackers, Predators of the Heart and Jeff Evans, plus the Reptile Man!

  • Participate in a unique community art project.

  • Take a souvenir photos at Point Defiance Marina’s Rock the Bowl photo booth.

  • Northwest Trek Zip Line.
    Guests can zip along the edge of the bowl just as they will be able to this summer at Northwest Trek.

  • Try your skill on the rock climbing wall, which allows both skilled and novice climbers to climb up for a birdseeye view of park.

  • Meadow Park Golf Course chipping green

  • Human hamster balls

  • An adventure obstacle course

  • STAR Center’s ropes course

Picnic @ the Point
After working up an appetite, grab some tasty Taste of Tacoma food and head over to the Picnic @ the Point, where picnic tables and a chance to watch the Rock the Bowl @ Point D activities are available.
