DowntownToDefiance_300x212Bike, walk, run, roll from Point Defiance Park to Downtown Tacoma and back.

Downtown to Defiance is a free open streets event on Sunday, September 28 for bicyclists, walkers and runners to experience the waterfront for almost 7 miles unencumbered by vehicular traffic.

The event starts and finishes at Point Defiance Park with a turnaround on the Foss Waterway Esplanade at S. 21st Street Park. 

Pre-Registration is Closed
Please visit the registration table at Point Defiance Park on the day of the event.

Road Closures:

Ruston Way
The northbound travel lanes along Ruston Way, Schuster Parkway and Dock Street to South 15th Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6 am to 1 pm.

Main entrance closed to vehicular traffic until 12:30 pm
Ferry Road and Marina Complex open.

Don’t bother eating breakfast at home. Come early for Food Truck Mania!

Many of the food trucks from the wildly-popular Tacoma Food Truck Fest in Wright Park will be on-site beginning at 7 am and ready to serve breakfast and lunch through 12 pm.

So RELAX, park your bike, give your legs a break and grab a bite to eat while listening to great music in the “Bowl”.

Please carpool to the event to ease traffic congestion in the area.
Free parking is available at Point Defiance Park along the city streets near the park entrance and in Lot A (entrance to Lot A is on Ferry road and to the right).
