Pooch Pool Party

Dogs rule the pool at the Pooch Pool Party!

10 am – 2 pm
Stewart Heights Pool, 402 E 56th St., Tacoma

Back by popular demand, with fun new features for you and your dog, Pooch Pool Party is a great way to celebrate summer's dog days.

Dogs can lunge through the Lazy River, splash in the sprayground, and easily get in and out of the water using the pool's zero-depth entry.

Sorry, no people are allowed in the pool during the Pool Party. Humans will be asked to watch from the pool deck.

New this year !
Vendor booths and activities in the park next to the pool.
  • Contests and games for dogs
  • A doggercise demo
  • Dog-related vendor and agency booths

How many dogs can you fit in a pool?

Sounds like a bad joke, but since we anticipate a big crowd and want to make sure everyone is safe while they're having fun, we're organizing the event into two shifts:
  • Morning shift: 10 – 11:45 am
  • Afternoon shift: 12:15 – 2 pm
Come for the morning shift and stay for the land-based fun and games, or come early and then let your dog take the plunge afterward. Either way, it's a day full of fun for dogs and their people!

Admission:

  • First dog: $7
  • Second Dog: $5
  • Humans: FREE
    (Limit 2 dogs per person)

Metro Parks' staff will turn off the pool chemicals to minimize irritation for the dogs and will drain and clean the pool after  the event.

Entry may be limited if pool reaches capacity.

Stewart Heights Pool is located at 402 E 56th St. and features a 160 foot water slide, lazy river, bubble pool, water play structure, water basketball and tumble buckets. Not all pool features will be available for dog use.

The shallow end features a zero depth entry where the pool bottom slopes like a beach. The maximum depth of the pool is 4 feet, 3 inches.
