2013 Special Olympics Washington Regional Golf Tournament and Skills Challenge
Hosted by Meadow Park Golf Course

On July 28, 2013 Meadow Park Golf Course will hosted its 7th consecutive regional outing for the Special Olympics of Washington.  An estimated 300+ participants will come out to Meadow Park from as far away as Whatcom and Clark Counties to compete in the regional event.  

The event consisted of players participating in skills challenges and playing golf on the Championship 18 & Williams 9 courses.  Participants that received a gold metal qualified for the State tournament in August.

Metro Parks Options team has practices every Monday at Meadow Park beginning in June to prepare for the State Tournament.  A number of participants from the Regional Tournament hosted at Meadow Park will go onto state. The Metro Parks Options Team as always has a great showing with a number of participants moving onto the state tournament.

Erik Haag from Meadow Park worked with Kodi Smith Doty, Recreation Coordinator & Julie Hollatz, Recreation Specialist from Metro Parks and many others from the Special Olympics organization to run a well-organized and successful event.
