Employee volunteers perform important work, generate financial match from Comcast
Sep 30, 2009
When Comcast employees rolled up their sleeves at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and Franklin Park during Comcast Cares day, their actions resulted in important improvements at both of the Metro Parks venues. As a result of their efforts, their employer provided a financial match for every hour donated by its employees. More than 50 employees pitched in at Franklin Park, while more than 100 of their colleagues ventured out to Northwest Trek where they helped, among other things, with important trail work.
Volunteer work is critical to the ongoing care of the more than 2,700 acres of parks and green space in the Metro Parks system.
On September 28, Comcast site leaders provided additional inspiration as they presented a check for nearly $1,000 to the Greater Metro Parks Foundation and for more than $2,000 to the Northwest Trek Foundation to complement the work performed by their employees.
