Dog owners will soon find new off-leash options in Tacoma
Sep 30, 2009
Beginning in early October, Point Defiance Park and McKinley Park will offer "off-leash demonstration areas" in response to the strong public interest to have off-leash opportunities within each of these parks.Unlike typical off-leash parks, the demonstration areas will not be fully fenced. The off-leash areas will be identified by signage that includes rules for use.
The Point Defiance demonstration area will be located near the old shelter across from Fort Nisqually. McKinley Park's demonstration area will be in the lower trails located outside the formal park area.
