Consultant Study of Cheney Stadium/MPT HQ Properties
Community meetings scheduled June 19 & 23, 2008
May 29, 2008
The City of Tacoma, Pierce County, Metro Parks Tacoma and the Tacoma School District want to hear from you, the community, as they explore the possibility of making improvements to the publicly owned property located at South 19th and South Tyler streets in Tacoma. This property is the current location of Cheney Stadium, Foss High School, Heidelberg-Davis Field, Metro Parks Tacoma's headquarters building and the Boy Scouts building.
Public meetings are scheduled:
- Thursday, June 19 at 5:30 pm in the Foss High School cafeteria (2112 S Tyler St.)
- Monday, June 23 at 6 pm in the Boy Scouts of America Great Room (4802 S 19th St.)
Local architectural firm BCRA has been hired to facilitate the gathering of information and the analysis of opportunities, constraints and issues. A key component of this project is gaining public input on what is important to the community and how community interests can best be incorporated into any future improvements of the property.
You are invited to come and share your ideas. This is a preliminary information gathering study and as such no development options or plans have been created.
