Public invited to participate in budget process

November 1, 2012

The 2013-14 Budget process continues this month, beginning with a Committee of the Whole discussion about the Executive Director’s Recommended Budget on November 19. While no public testimony is taken as part of this discussion, the public is welcome to attend to learn more about the programs and services included in the recommended budget.

The 2nd Public Hearing for the budget will take place on November 26, during which citizens may testify either during Public Comments or as part of the Hearing. Final Reading and adoption of the budget will take place on December 10.

This is a regular board meeting, so although the public doesn’t have the chance to testify as part of the 2nd reading of the budget resolution, there is a public comment opportunity at the beginning of every meeting during which citizens can discuss any topic with the board.

If you are unable to attend the public hearings and would like to provide input to the Board prior to adoption of the budget, comments may be sent via email.
