Turkey Trot goes green! Join this Thanksgiving Day tradition and support the environment at the same time.

On or before November 25: $25 walk/run $10 kid's dash |
After November 25: $30 walk/run $15 kid's dash |
Door prizes and prizes for the best turkey costume will be awarded!
Green practices are being incorporated into the event in many ways:
• Solar power will replace electricity for chip timing and sound systems
• Race t-shirts are 100% organic cotton
• "Water to Go", a recycled bottle and filtered water system, will replace bottled water
• Tacoma Public Utilities and Pierce County Environmental Services will be on site to offer ideas for the public go green in their own lives.
• A bicycler is leading the race as an example of alternate forms of transportation.
Participants are encouraged to join the "green" fun by:
• Donating old athletic shoes which Nike and Goodwill recycle into running tracks
• Walking, biking, riding the bus or carpooling to the event. Free parking is available at Meeker Middle School, near the NE 45th Street entrance, for carpoolers.
• Take part in the canned food drive sponsored by the Emergency Food Network. Bring any canned non-perishable items to the event.
