Wapato Park
6500 S. Sheridan Ave
Tacoma, WA
MAP
Simple things we can all do that will have a positive effect on the lake:
Don't feed birds or other wildlife in the park. Animal waste is a large contributor to the phosphorus level in the lake and it's a violation of the Municipal Code to feed wild animals.
Pick up and properly dispose of your pet's waste so it doesn't enter the lake.
Select environmentally friendly lawn fertilizers and apply them properly to avoid runoff into the storm system.
Don't wash your car in the driveway or on the street. Choose a grassy or gravel area to help filter soap from the water before it enters the storm drain or use a commercial car wash where waste water is processed before discharge.
