Born and raised in Anacortes, Washington. I attended the University of Washington. Recruited to the UW as a rower, I spent four years competing for one of the top rowing programs in the United States. The opportunity granted me the chance to be a three time Pac 10 Champion as well as winning a silver and bronze medal at the National Championship in 1993 and 1995.
After the completion of my collegiate rowing career I decided to give coaching a try. That led me from UW to the east coast and Trinity College as a graduate assistant rowing and basketball coach and a Physical Education instructor. In 1998 I became the head coach of the women's rowing team at Trinity and stayed there until 2002.
The draw of the west coast lured me back and I found myself coaching the novice team for a year at Oregon State University. I loved Corvallis and the Beavers, but when my Alma matter called, I could not resist. In 2003 I returned to Seattle and became the novice rowing coach for the University of Washington. After five years there; several Pac 10 medal winning crews and a second place finish at the NCAA Championship in 2008 I decided to retire from coaching and work on starting a family.
What I missed the most about coaching was helping people get fit and realize their goals. That drew me to personal training and fitness instruction and to the Centre at Norpoint. Over the years I've had the opportunity to teach several different classes including-Silver Sneakers, Water Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Weight Lifting, Spinning and Boot Camp.
See you in the gym!
