When does the race take place?
Thursday, November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day)

Where does the race start and end?
The race begins and ends at the Centre at Norpoint, 4818 Nassau Avenue, Tacoma, 98422.

Can I get my race number and race packet before race day?
Yes! Participants who sign-up by midnight on Nov. 22 can take advantage of pre-race packet pick-up on Nov. 24 and 25.

Due to the large turnout and long lines on race-day, event organizers strongly encourage everyone to pre-register online by November 22 at midnight so you can take advantage of pre-race packet pick-up.

Pre-race packet pick-up occurs at the Centre at Norpoint on Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 9am-6pm.  


Is the Course Certified?
Yes, the 5K route is USATF Certified. View course map.
Is the Race Timed?
The Turkey Trot will be chip-timed by Rogue Multi-Sport, LLC. Runners will be issued a lightweight timing chip in the pre-race packet along with the runner's bib number.  The chip attaches to the shoe lace.The timing chip must be returned at the finish line or it will result in a $20 lost chip fee charged to the registered runner.

How will I receive my results?
Official results will be posted on-line by Thursday, November 26 at 8 pm.

Can I participate in the 5K or 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk with my dog or baby jogger?
Yes, as long as the animal is leashed and the baby jogger has a fully-functioning braking system.

What should I do with my personal items while I'm running?
Please leave any and all valuables at home. The Turkey Trot does not have a personal item check-in/out area.

Are there prizes and awards?
Yes. Plaques will be presented to the overall male, overall female and overall wheelchair winner. Ribbons will be awarded to all Kids' Trot participants. Awards will also be given for age division placement. All registered participants are eligible for great random prizes that will be given out during the Awards Ceremony.  

Are there age division awards?
The first five(5) in each category, including wheelchairs, will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot ribbon. Competition will be in these age groups for men and women in the 5-K Run and 2-Mile Fun/Run Walk. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Age groups:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+  

Are there awards for the Kids' Trot participants?
Each child participating in the Kids' Trot will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot ribbon. 

What can I expect along the course?
The event takes runners on a challenging course set in a beautiful, suburban, quiet neighborhood with magnificent views of Mount Rainier.

Can I confirm that I have signed up?
Yes. If you signed-up online you can view the confirmation list by clicking HERE. If you did not sign up online please call a customer service representative at (253) 591-5504.
Are there opportunities to volunteer?
Yes. Volunteers are needed! Sign up online to volunteer by clicking HERE. All volunteers will receive a free race t-shirt.
Will I get a free t-shirt?
Yes! But only those participants who sign up before November 15 are guaranteed a race t-shirt.
Where should I park?
Free parking is available at Meeker Middle School, 4402 Nassau Ave NE, Tacoma, WA 98422-2282. Meeker Middle School parking entrance/exit is located off of NE 45th Street only. Parking at the Centre at Norpoint is very limited because this is where the event will begin/end. View parking map.
