Historical Information
Is your favorite beach safe for swimming? Before you hit the road, check on-line to make sure. The state departments of Ecology and Health, along with 360 volunteers, will track 71 beaches along Puget Sound and the Washington coast for bacterial pollution that could make people sick.
The beaches will be tested weekly this summer, and the results will be posted on the Department of Health's Web site.
Tacoma's Owen Beach, Ruston Way Waterfront and Titlow Park Beach are included in the testing.
