There are no available time slots for summer scout programs. You may begin booking your Fall 2010 programs anytime.
Girl & Boy Scout Badge Programs
Tacoma Nature Center is the ideal place for enjoying and learning about nature and the environment. We offer council-wide Girl Scout badge and try-it workshops and individual troop programs for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Call the nature center at (253) 591-6439 to register for a troop program or a council-wide workshop. Dates fill quickly so register early. Two week minimum notice is needed for troop programs. Staff is available Tuesday - Saturday. Minimum payment for an individual troop program is for 10 Scouts and must be made at time of reservation. Adults are free and must provide appropriate adult:child ratio. Contact Margie Shea, Education Program Specialist, by phone or e-mail at marjories@tacomaparks.com if you have any questions.

Plants of Many Colors 55629
Try-It Workshop
Saturday, October 9, 2010 1:30pm - 4:00pm
Experiment and play with plants from their beginnings as seeds through their many shapes, colors and forms. Learn about the uses for plants in our everyday lives and why they are so important to us all. Make a special craft from plants! Girls will receive the Plants Try-It at the end of the event. Must be a Brownie Girl Scout to attend. Registration deadline: September 25.
$10.00 per girl, adults free
Numbers & Shapes in Nature 55630
Try-It Workshop
Saturday, December 4, 2010 9:30am - noon
It's all about Nature and the patterns, shapes and rainbow of colors to be found outdoors. Hike along the trails of the Tacoma Nature Center, make a jigsaw puzzle, create critters with paper and have some fun! Girls will receive the Numbers & Shapes Try-It at the end of the event. Must be a Brownie Girl Scout to attend. Registration deadline: November 20.
$10.00 per girl, adults free
FOR JUNIOR GIRL SCOUTS:
Outdoors in the City 55631
Badge Workshop
Saturday, November 6, 2010 9:00am - noon
Enjoy an outdoor adventure at Tacoma Nature Center, right in the middle of the city. Discover ways to have fun playing outdoor games, Frisbee "golf", and meet our urban wild neighbors on a guided hike. Girls will receive the Outdoors in the City Badge at the end of the event. Must be a Junior Girl Scout to attend. Registration Deadline: October 23.
$12.00 per girl, adults free
FOR DAISY GIRL SCOUTS:
There are no Daisy Days scheduled for Fall 2010.

| Cub Scout Troop Program |
Troop programs are $10.00 per boy and are 2 hours long.
Boys fulfill requirements for Sharing Your World with Wildlife with hands-on activities and games that teach about conservation careers, endangered animals of the Pacific Northwest, and a simple bird feeder. A guided hike will explore the wildlife and wetlands habitat of Snake Lake.

| Webelos Troop Program |
Troop programs are $12.00 per boy and are 2 1/2 hours long.
Boys complete the requirements of the Naturalist Badge with their visit to the nature center. Games and activities will teach bird identification and explore the amazing adaptations and behaviors of our feathered friends. Learn about the role of wildlife and humans in ecosystems, with a focus during a guided hike on the aquatic animals and wetland habitat of Snake Lake.
