   Neighborhood parks, green spaces, ballfields, beaches, playgrounds and ponds give you reasons and places to pause in the middle of your hectic life.
We're asking you to "chip in" by investing your time and talents in your parks and your community. There are a variety of different ways you can CHIP-in! to improve parks and opens spaces, invest in environmental protection, and protect our resources while experiencing personal, social and physical rewards.

Whether you're an individual or a group, can help on a one-time project or on a recurring, long-term project, no matter what level of commitment you choose - Metro Parks Tacoma will work with each volunteer or group to develop the right solution for your area of interest.

Participate in Parks Appreciation Day - April 24, 2010
Pack it In, Pack it Home to minimize litter in parks
Volunteer occasionally to help maintain your parks, community centers or gardens
Keep parks and families safe with Neighborhood Park Patrols
Help grow plants and flowers at our greenhouses
Sponsor a neighborhood or community park by performing maintenance on a regular basis
Complete your high school culminating or graduation project in parks
Support the environment by working in our green spaces, urban forests, gulches or wetlands
Complete a Scout or Troop project in our parks
Join one of our Garden Clubs
Volunteer at special events
Assist at W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory with our botanical collections, educational and historic interpretations or welcoming visitors
Donate to Metro Parks Foundation
