The Parks Improvement Bond Measure, approved by the citizens of Tacoma in November of 2005, provides $190,000 for this project.

03/05/08 Project completed.
01/18/08
The contractor is still waiting for two small pieces of fencing.
12/07/07 Project is substantially complete. Fencing is on order and anticipated by 12/10/07.
10/12/07 Fence materials are available and final fence work should be installed next week.
09/28/07 While project is substantially complete, access to the park is blocked by contractor fencing to allow grass to grow. Also, the contractor is still waiting for delivery of ornamental fences which were supposed to have shipped 09/06/07.
08/03/07 The contractor is completing final items. Seeding is planned for Sept. for better establishment.
07/20/07 All playground equipment has been installed.
06/08/07 Play equipment should be delivered next week.
05/25/07 Work is 50% complete. Work will be completed by August.
05/11/07 The old play toys have been demolished.
04/30/07 KBH Construction have been given the "notice to proceed" with playground upgrades at Celebration Park, Lots for Tots, Puget Park and Sawyer Tot Lot. The work is to be completed by August 28th.
03/16/07 Bids were received on Feb. 27, 2007. The Construction Contract will be brought to the Board at their March 26, 2007 meeting.
11/09/06 Staff has met with community groups. A consultant contract for final design has been established and notice to proceed has been issued.
