Chalk Art Ground Murals
Keep your head down to follow the chalk art ground murals installed upon sidewalks throughout Tacoma's Museum District and the University of Washington-Tacoma campus.
Watch as 13 local and regional chalk artists work from copies of classic historical masterpieces and originals to transform otherwise gray walkways into vibrant pieces of art.

Frost Park Friday Chalk-off regulars invite you to join them in a special Saturday chalking extravaganza.
What's Frost Park? Frost Park is located at 9th & Pacific in downtown Tacoma and is named after Larry Frost, a Tacoma police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1977.
What's it have to do with chalk? In March 2008, inspired by a discussion during Local Life's "Go Local or Die" event, a group began to gather for lunch there each Friday as an effort to make positive use of the often forgotten park. In April, local artist R.R. Anderson introduced the chalk-offs as a bit of lunch-hour fun. The now-weekly showcase has included temporary works of art by some of Tacoma's top talent, as well as the all-ages scribblings and scrawlings of folks in it just for fun.
Haven't been? Here's your chance to doodle a bit and celebrate all that Tacoma has to showcase -- on a Saturday! You don't have to be a pro. Just show up at the south end of Tollefson plaza, grab some free chalk and get to chalking.
