Restroom Schedule

Conduct in public parks
  • Park visitors are advised fire danger is high during this summer's extreme weather conditions. If conditions become severe, the district may restrict use of barbecues and smoking in certain park areas.
  • These courtesies are required by City Ordinance, Park Code Chapter 8.27. Violations are civil infractions that can result in immediate citation with fines up to $250 and removal from the park. Failure to comply can result in criminal trespass charges.
  • Keep Nature Natural: Please don't harm or feed the wildlife or cut or remove plant life.
  • Closing Hours: Parks close one half hour after sunset and open one half hour before sunrise.
  • Alcohol: Alcohol beverages of any nature are not allowed in the park.
  • Bring your dog or cat: Be sure they are on a leash, are under your control, and that you scoop up after them.
  • Barbecues/Fires: Fires are prohibited except in picnic stoves or in portable barbeques and they may only utilize propane or charcoal briquettes as fuel; all other fuel sources, including wood, are specifically prohibited. Briquettes must be completely extinguished and properly disposed of or removed from the park.
  • Helmets Helmet use is required by anyone bicycling, skateboarding, roller-skating or riding a scooter in any public area in the City of Tacoma.
  • Fireworks are illegal in the City of Tacoma - view flyer - additional info
  • Permits Are Required: All events, demonstrations, private parties, classes, commercial sales, weddings, camps or sporting programs require a permit. Nothing can be sold in a park and admissions cannot be charged without a permit. If you are bringing a sound-amplifying device, inflatable bouncer, stage or other equipment, or plan to run an organized activity, you must have a permit. The permit must be presented when requested. Permits supersece 'first come' claims to park amenities. Call 305.1010 for more info on permits.
  • Car Prowl Prevention Tips - Vehicle prowls occur in Tacoma whether you are in one of our parks, at home, shopping or even at your place of business. (05/14/08)
