Closing hours (Tacoma Municipal Code 8.27.220) Parks shall close at 10 pm, except those parks whose access is controlled by gates, in which case they will close one-half hour after sunset. In other areas, no person will be permitted to enter or remain, nor will cars be allowed to remain parked, in any park after 10 pm, unless specifically authorized.

Park Policy on Alcohol and Pets in our Parks
The City of Tacoma Municipal Code requires helmet use by anyone bicycling, skateboarding, roller-skating or riding a scooter in any public area in the City of Tacoma. Parents or guardians are responsible for requiring children under age 18 to wear an approved helmet.

- Bond Work Projects - In November 2005 the Metro Parks Tacoma $84.3 million bond measure passed with 62.38% of the votes. That means Tacoma citizens can look forward to plenty of activity in their parks in the coming years.
- Small Works Roster - MPT may utilize the SWR to solicit bids from contractors for many of its smaller construction projects with a budget of $200,000 or less
