About Showcase

Showcase Tacoma, a multi-disciplinary arts experience like no other, takes to the heart of downtown Tacoma Friday and Saturday, August 8-9, 2008. The 3rd annual event features the local and regional exploding arts scene with visual and performing art exhibits and demonstrations, art installations, and performance activities appealing to people of all ages!

Premiering in 2008, the enhanced ArtMart will feature indie crafts from local and regional artists. Plus, exciting new components of the event include contemporary dance and visual art installations – in interesting and unexpected places – performance art, and foot-stompin', hip-shakin' musical entertainment. Tacoma's arts and educational organizations also bring vibrancy to the offerings with creative performances and demonstrations. All this activity and excitement takes place this August at Showcase!

Back by popular demand – chalk art installations – featuring students from Tacoma's School of the Arts (SOTA) and many more of the favorites including glass blowing, interactive children's art zone, spoken word, metal works, poetry, highlights from The Grand Cinema's 72-Hour Film Festival, and delicious food and drinks from local restaurants.
