PARK IMPROVEMENTS
2013 - Tree planting bid is out with anticipated completion by May 1.
2013 - "Staple" bike racks installed to the right of the main entrance to the community center thanks to Metro Parks and City of Tacoma staff in response to a resident's request.
2012 - Improvements included perimeter sidewalk repairs, decorative fencing, picnic tables and benches, irrigation upgrades, trees, landscape improvements, new stage at the lower end of the park, and relocation of the play area and basketball court. Work was funded by the Parks Improvement Bond Measure, approved by the citizens of Tacoma in November of 2005.

COMMUNITY CENTER IMPROVEMENTS
2013 - The Board of Park Commissioners passed a resolution to allocate $1.65 million to support the City's replacement of People's Pool. Our funding will be designated from the 2005 Capital Bond Unallocated Funds acocunt. MPT plannng staff will be involved in the design of the pool.
2011 - Upgrades to the center included upgraded exterior cladding, painted building, restored roofing assemblies to provide weather sealed integrity, rehabilitated domestic water piping, renovated door assemblies, remodeled stage platform, renovated metal lockers and shower stanchions, renovated kitchen, renovated nursery, renovated floor finishes, rehabilitated alarm functions, fire alarm upgrades and lighting upgrades.
