CHIP-in! has several special events throughout the year, each with a different set of goals in mind, but all with the ultimate goal of improving our parks and natural areas.

This group of students from UPS, WCC, and community citizens spread over 80 yards of chips on the hillside at the Pearl Street exit in Point Defiance Park. Contact Richard Madison for more information.

Parks throughout Pierce County 
We'll trim limbs, groom grounds and plant flowers and trees during one of the largest attended environmental volunteer days in the south sound.
 Man and Two Boys Cleaning Up Trails TRAILS DAY 
June 7, 2014 
Celebrate National Trails Day at our local parks by doing trail improvements to help our existing trail system.

September 19, 2014 from 9 am to 1 pm. 
Each year, the United Way challenges corporate groups and individuals to get involved in local community projects on the 3rd Friday in September.  Metro Parks Tacoma hosts or co-hosts sites in order to improve our natural areas and nature-centered facilities.
 Green Tacoma Day 2012 GREEN TACOMA DAY

This event takes place at multiple parks throughout the nation in conjunction with National Publics Lands Day. It is delivered through the Green Tacoma Partnership with a focus centered on habitat restoration in our natural areas.
