Wake Up For Wapato

Help us kick off the Wapato Sustainability Project and try out recent park improvements including a new loop trail around the lake and new dog park!
Wake Up for Wapato Activities:
- Play & Eat: Join us for games, raffles, giveaways and a free corn roast!
- Enlighten: CFL light bulb change outs, on-demand water heaters, insulation upgrades, water conservation.
- Learn: Rain gardens, invasive weed control, continuing education.
- Discover: Important information about woodstoves, air quality & our county's designation as a nonattainment area.
- Understand: Rain gardens, food waste collection and stormwater abatement.
- Volunteer: Opportunities to CHIP-IN with Metro Parks Tacoma.
The city led Wapato Sustainability Project is a coordinated outreach program which will showcase various programs and initiatives currently available to Tacoma homeowners.
Tacoma Public Utilities, City of Tacoma, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, Pierce Conservation District, Pierce County Health and Metro Parks Tacoma are a few of the participants.
