The Metro Arts Theater Arts program is focused on creating a positive and safe space to help young Thespians discover more about themselves and build self confidence.

  • Classes generally run parallel to the school year, from September- June.
  • Camps are offered during the summer months July & August

Metro Arts theater Company
Would you like to be a member of Metro Arts’ Theater Company? You can be in the Metro Arts spring Production of A Jungle Book by invitation if you sign up for our classes, or audition for us. We’re looking for enthusiastic, talented young performers to help us with our re-telling of Rudyard Kipling’s beloved story. Who will be our Mowgli, Bagheera, or Baloo? There are many other characters just waiting to be cast, so be part of our growing theater department and let the fun begin!

Theater 101 Ages: 6 – 10
Your child will learn theater basics, enjoy some theater games and get up on the stage to put on a show for friends and family on the last day of class. We will focus on theater teamwork, theater etiquette and the fundamentals of acting. Familiarity with nursery rhymes is a plus. We will provide you with a fun reading list to help get
your child ready for some creative stage fun.

Theater 101 Ages 11 – 18
For beginners as well as experienced young actors. Students will work on monologues, scenes and improvised skits, building confidence and performance skills through ensemble teamwork. On the final day of class, we will present
what we’ve worked on for family and friends. This class is taught by a professional New York actor/director with many years of experience working with children and young adults.
