Martin Luther King Day of Caring
Monday, January 15 (9:00am - 12:00pm)
Devote time to community endeavors and habitat conservation while getting some exercise . . .
At Point Defiance Park, volunteer crews will spread mulch and rake flower beds. Plan to meet others near the duck pond, just inside the park’s Pearl Street entrance.
At Titlow Park, the plan is to remove Himalayan blackberry vines and other invasive plants. Plan to meet in the small gravel parking lot on the right side of Sixth Avenue. If you reach the spray-grounds, you’ve gone too far.
At Franklin Park, the plan is to remove ivy, blackberry, and other invasive plants and pick up litter in the park. We will meet at the small service road just off of 12th street in the wooded area above the grass and playground.
For groups of 10 or more, please pre-register by contacting Richard Madison, Community & Special Projects Coordinator, (253) 202-5978; firstname.lastname@example.org otherwise, just show up the day of.
