Heritage Skills Workshop - Bee Independent
Saturday, March 16 (1:30pm - 3:30pm)
Bee Independent! Learn how to engineer your own lip balm and moisturizers based on your skin needs while helping support local pollinators. For the kitchen, we will practice making reusable food wraps using natural cloth and beeswax. All recipes were developed by Tacoma students who will be on hand to help with each step.
This course will be led by Lauren Anderson, science teacher, who manages the student-run apiary for Tacoma students, Bee 253. Originally started as a senior project, this program now serves all ages and multiple campuses.
