Chief Strategy Officer
Throughout his 5 years as manager of the District’s Natural Resources division, Joe Brady led a number of major initiatives including development of the organization’s first strategic Sustainability Plan. In 2016, he was appointed to lead a new Strategic Direction and Innovation division.
As the District’s Chief Strategy Officer, Joe oversees the District’s Information Technology, GIS and Data Analytics programs. In addition, Joe is also responsible for developing MPT’s LEAN agency management efforts, which is aimed at analyzing the agency’s various business processes and workflows to identify operational savings and increase customer satisfaction. Joe also works closely with partners from other organizations, agencies and businesses to evaluate joint opportunities throughout the Tacoma community.
Prior to joining Metro Parks, Joe worked for the Office of the Commissioner of Public Lands as a senior level policy analyst, with primary duties to ensure that public lands owned by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) were sustainably managed. Over his 12 year career at DNR, Joe’s duties ranged front line forest management and wildland firefighting to developing new programs that utilized new technology aimed at improving statewide land management.
He holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Range and Forest Management from Colorado State University.
