Parks & Recreation Director

Marina BeckerMarina joined Metro Parks in 1982 as a greenhouse grower. After that she managed the Conservatory for 13 years and then served as Superintendent of Parks. She was promoted to Director of Parks in 2014.

In this capacity Marina oversees all park operations and natural resource management at over 75 park locations including almost 3,000 acres of park property, over 500,000 square feet of buildings, W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory, Point Defiance Marina, Fort Nisqually Living History Museum and Meadow Park Golf Course.

Marina has a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Texas A&M University.
