Culminating Projects

Senior Projects in the Natural Resources Field

Fulfill Culminating/Senior Project/Community Service requirements through the Tacoma Nature Center.  High school students from throughout Pierce County are welcome to sign up for projects that will have them working with other students to:

  • Research local environments
  • Participate in real outdoor field work
  • Help protect Washington's wildlife
  • Acquire skills that will help with career plans

Boy With Backpack & Notebook at the Nature CenterWe represent agencies and organizations from throughout the Puget Sound area and can help students find something of interest in their area.  A minimum 20 hours commitment is required.  For more information, contact The Tacoma Nature Center at (253) 404-3930.

Current projects available include:

  • Amphibian surveys
  • Near-shore beach surveys
  • Web page design
  • Park maintenance and development of a garden
  • and many more!
