2018 Tentative Camp Dates
All camps take place at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum.
Fort Nisqually Kit Camp Age: 6 - 8
Named after the young beavers (kits) important to the fur trade, campers experience the past with stories, songs, crafts and games as they touch, hear, smell and taste history. Grand finale is a campfire lunch for campers and parents. A snack is included each day.
June 26 - 28, Tue - Thu 9 am -12 pm
Camp Fort Nisqually Age: 12 - 14
Participants discover what life was like at Puget Sound’s first trading post. Campers take an in-depth look at people and events that shaped the Fort’s history and learn 19th century skills such as black smithing, fire starting and candle making. Camp includes a Thursday night sleepover with dinner and breakfast provided.
July 9 - 13, Mon-Fri 9 am - 4 pm
History Through the Arts Camp Age: 9 - 11
Campers participate in activities related to the mid-19th century, learning crafts, activities, music and games associated with the many cultures that were part of Fort Nisqually. Snacks and Friday lunch is provided.
