The W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory has lots of new features: the Medinilla Magnifica, Chocolate trees with pods, the Sound Bath and Blooms experience.

And as of March 2019: restrooms.

They’re open to the public, paid for by the 2014 capital improvement bond (see the full list of bond projects here) and built for accessibility. Click here to see the plans.

The restrooms are part of what’s hoped to be a long list of improvements to the Victorian-style conservatory in Wright Park (Click here to learn more). On the menu for the future are things such as structural renovations and bringing back the historic facades. Work could begin sometime after summer 2019, when Metro Parks will learn whether it’s won a grant to support the next phase.

Until then … well, enjoy if you feel the need.
