Metro Parks Tacoma welcomes public input on the final draft of its 6-year Strategic Master Plan.
The plan outlines a process through which the independent park and recreation district aims to meet community needs and sustain operations throughout its 80 park and recreation properties, along more than eight miles of shoreline and at attractions such as Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Tacoma Nature Center and Fort Nisqually Living History Museum.
The park district launched the update process in May with online surveys, presentations to all City of Tacoma neighborhood councils and interviews with city and business leaders. The draft plan is available for download from the Metro Parks website, which also feature an online survey where comments are welcomed. The deadline for public input is Dec. 15.
