Paralympic Sport Club
U.S. Paralympics is partnering with community organizations from across the country to create a network of Paralympic Sport Clubs.
Paralympic Sport Clubs are community-based programs developed to involve youth and adults with physical and visual disabilities in sports and physical activity, regardless of skill level. All programs and activities will be based in the community and are run by the local organization.
Held in the same year, in the same city, and same venues as the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games are the second largest sporting event in the world.
Metro Parks Adaptive Recreation program was recently certified by the US Olympic Committee as a Paralympic Sport Club. This exclusive designation allows us to train athletes for specific Olympic events, such as sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball.
