People's Community Center has a full size gymnasium that can accommodate up to 500 people, and can be divided for two separate functions with a curtain in the middle. A complete kitchen is right off the gym.
The Center is convenient to both Tacoma and South King County and has ample parking.
Outside caterers are welcome and liquor may be served with a banquet permit, security and a bartender.
The People's Community Center is also available for Weddings; Meetings; Private Parties and Special Events.

Description of services and facility:
- Capacity: Entire room - maximum capacity 500
- Dance Floor: Gymnasium
- Parking: 50 parking stalls, 4 handicap stalls and a lot of on street parking.
- ADA accessible
- Decorations: no staples, nails, or duct tape (painters tape only); no confetti or glitter, sand, bird food, rice, no open flame candles. Decorating time included in rental time.
- Alcohol allowed in designated areas (with banquet permit).
- 50 long tables - 6 feet in length (72 inches) and 200 chairs
- Kitchen amenities: stove, oven and refrigerator.
Staff person(s) remain on site during your event; however, staff are not responsible for decorating or setup.
Availability and terms: Full payment is required upon reservation. A four-hour minimum reservation is required. A refundable damage deposit is required 15 days prior to rental date.
Events suitable for this unique location: Weddings, receptions, banquets, meetings, corporate and family gatherings.Forms and Information:
Rental Hours: Monday-Sunday, 7am-2am
Alcohol: You must have a banquet permit and it must be submitted to Metro Parks 15 days prior to the event, in order to serve alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed after 1am. A licensed bartender is required at rentals where alcohol will be served.
Security: Required when alcohol is served. Security guards are contracted through a private security company, at a rate of $25 per hour per guard and paid 15 days prior to event. This is payable through MPT. You are required to have one security guard for 99 guests or less, two security guards for 100 guests or more.
Room Rental Rates:
$150 an hour without alcohol, $175 an hour with alcohol damage deposit (due at least 15 days prior to rental event) of $350 for the Gymnasium without alcohol and $600 with alcohol; Damage deposit is refundable if there is no damage. There is a non-refundable cleaning fee of $150.00

Rent the Madrona Room for $150.00 for 4 hours and a $50 refundable damage deposit. Additional hours may be purchased for $45 per hour.
Rent the Multi-Purpose room for $375.00 for 4 hours and a $100 refundable damage deposit. Additional hours can be purchased for $100 per hour. Party Pack is $300 for four hours. Rental hours can be from 8am to 8pm only.
Party Packs are available for birthday parties for kids under 12, adults 62 and over or baby showers only. You bring the kids and food for a perfect birthday celebration with no fuss, no stress!
