Point Defiance Native Garden

On August 2, 2014 the Native Garden celebrated its 50th Anniversary

Since 1964 the Native Garden at Point Defiance Park has displayed and maintained the native flora of the Pacific Northwest.

With its breathtaking waterfall, tranquil pond, and 1 1/2 acres of plant life, the garden has become a staple for gardeners and nature enthusiasts.

The public was invited to celebrate the garden’s 50 year history and the noble efforts of the Tacoma Garden Club volunteers who have spent countless hours maintaining the garden’s beauty and who have been instrumental in the maintenance and development of this Northwest treasure.
