CHIP-in! has several special events throughout the year, each with a different set of goals in mind, but all with the ultimate goal of improving our parks and natural areas.

Parks throughout Pierce County 
We'll trim limbs, groom grounds and plant flowers and trees during one of the largest attended environmental volunteer days in the south sound.

Celebrate National Trails Day at our local parks by doing trail improvements to help our existing trail system.

Each year, the United Way challenges corporate groups and individuals to get involved in local community projects on the 3rd Friday in September.  Metro Parks Tacoma hosts or co-hosts sites in order to improve our natural areas and nature-centered facilities. This event takes place at multiple parks throughout the nation in conjunction with National Public Lands Day. It is delivered through the Green Tacoma Partnership with a focus centered on habitat restoration in our natural areas.
