3/16/20  Tacoma Titans Tournament Update

The Titans would like to express their appreciation to everyone who supported along their journey and helped them get to the tournament.

In their first round the Titans played the #7 ranked LWSRA Hawks out of Chicago and won 64-50. They then lost a really tight game in the semi-finals to the Brooks Ballers out of Jacksonville FL who went on to win the championship handily. The Titans never give up, their winning attitude was there until the buzzer sounded. The team represented Tacoma well and they look forward to going for it again next season.

Titans LogoIt’s exciting news! Tacoma’s wheelchair basketball team, the Tacoma Titans, has qualified to participate in the 2020 National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Tournament in Wichita, Kansas on March 11-13, 2020.

The Titans, comprised of two Army veterans and eight community members, exemplify excellence in their skill, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Please join us in supporting the Tacoma Titans as they compete for this national title. For the tournament, athletes are responsible for the cost of airfare, hotel, and ground transportation—a financial hardship for those on limited incomes. The estimated travel expenses for the team are $10,000. Will you help us meet this goal?

This is a fast, fun, and physical team with a great mix of community members and veterans, all with physical disabilities such as Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, spinal cord injuries, and amputations. The team’s record is 20-2 and they have proven themselves as one of the best teams in the country with a current National ranking of 4th overall.
