At Metro Parks, our mission is to create healthy opportunities to play, learn and grow. Moving our mission forward would not be possible without our volunteers' countless hours of service to our parks and to the people who enjoy them.  Volunteers are always welcome at the Conservatory, or its supporting facilities at the Greenhouses in Point Defiance Park.

Volunteers at Work in the Beds in Front of the Conservatory

The Conservatory offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities from “hands on” set up and care of our rotating floral displays, to serving on our Foundation Board or Education Committee.  We welcome interns, docents and retirees that would like to learn about and help interpret our plant collections to visitors. Volunteers also help us deliver programs and maintain excellence in our horticultural displays.

Azaleas at the Plant Sale at the Greenhouse

Help us bring beautiful color and style to our outdoor beds and the vibrant floral displays at the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory.  Volunteers are integral to success in our greenhouse operations. Working closely with our horticulture staff, volunteers assist in every aspect of plant production.  Opportunities change with each crop and season including transplanting, weeding, spacing and grooming.
